Equality Information
Published: October 2026
Under the Public Sector Equality Duty (Equality Act 2010), we must have due regard to the need to:
- eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation;
- advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not;
- foster good relations between different groups.
Our school community
Pallister Park is a large primary school serving a community with high levels of deprivation. Our pupils come from a range of backgrounds, and a number have special educational needs or disabilities or speak English as an additional language.
How we meet the duty
- Eliminating discrimination: Our behaviour, anti-bullying, safeguarding and complaints policies set out how we respond to any form of discrimination or prejudice. Staff receive equality training as part of their induction and ongoing training.
- Advancing equality of opportunity: We use our pupil premium and other funding to remove barriers to learning, and we make reasonable adjustments so that pupils with SEND can take part fully in school life.
- Fostering good relations: Our curriculum, including PSHE, RSE and Religious Education, teaches pupils to respect and value differences between people, families and cultures.
Our equality objectives
Our equality objectives for 2026 to 2030 are set out in our Public Sector Equality Duty policy, which is available below. We review our progress towards them each year.
