Pallister Park Primary School

High expectations for every learner

At Pallister Park, ‘high expectations’ means something specific. It does not mean expecting every child to reach the same destination at the same time. It means refusing to set a ceiling on what any child can achieve and building the support structures to make progress possible for all.

Mathematics

We build number-rich environments from age two, connecting mathematics to real life so children develop not just calculation skills but genuine mathematical thinking. By Year 5, children talk confidently about their learning and apply it to problems they haven’t seen before.

“Pupils in Year 5 speak confidently about their recent learning in mathematics and show a secure understanding.” — Ofsted 2024

Reading and Phonics

Daily story sessions, expert phonics teaching, and books matched to every child’s current ability combine to make reading a source of pleasure and power rather than anxiety. We will not give up on any child’s reading journey.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela
