The Local Offer

Knowing what support is available — and how to find it

The Local Offer is a legal requirement under the Children and Families Act 2014. It brings together information about every service, support and provision available to children and young people with SEND aged 0 to 25 — and the families who care for them.

Every local authority in England is required to publish a Local Offer. Middlesbrough’s Local Offer sets out what is available across education, health, social care and beyond — for children and families in our area.

One place to find the support your family needs

Before the Local Offer existed, families often had to piece together information from many different places — and frequently missed support they were entitled to. The Local Offer was created to change that. It is a single, searchable source of information about services and support for children and young people with SEND from birth to 25 years old.

It covers everything from early years and education to health, leisure, transport, social care and preparation for adult life. Whether you are a parent at the very start of your journey, a young person approaching adulthood, or a professional working with a child, the Local Offer is designed to help you understand what is available and how to access it.

At Pallister Park, our own provision forms part of Middlesbrough’s Local Offer. We publish details of what we provide, how we identify and support children with SEND, and how families can work with us — all of which you will find on this website and in our SEND Information Report.

The Local Offer is for everyone connected to a child with SEND

Children & Young People

What Pallister Park offers as part of the Local Offer

As an IQM Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, Pallister Park is a school that goes beyond the minimum. Our contribution to the Local Offer reflects the breadth of support we provide — and the genuine commitment we make to every child and family.

Our core offer includes additional teachers in every year group to provide targeted small-group support across all areas of the curriculum, a dedicated Vulnerable Pupil Support Team working directly with children and their families, and a full range of Wave 1, 2 and 3 interventions matched to individual need.

We work with a wide range of specialist services — from Educational Psychology and CAMHS through to Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Daisy Chain, Sunflower Sensory Service, CATS Counselling and many others — to ensure that no child is without the right support simply because it sits outside what a school can provide alone.

Full details of how we identify, assess and support children with SEND — including our SEND Information Report — are published on this website.
